Why does Swank want me to make an instructor account on the platform?

Answer

Swank provides faculty with the ability to request films that are not yet available to us. To take advantage of this feature, you will need to make an account with Swank. Here is how to do that:

  1. When you first access Swank, you will see a popup asking you to make an account as a student or as an instructor. 
  2. Faculty should click the “Instructor” box.
  3. Use your Union email address to make your account. Your password can be whatever you choose.
  4. Check your email for a message from Swank, with the subject “Your Account Has Been Created.” (The email will come from donotreply@swankmp.com.) 
  5. Click the link in the email to activate your account.

Once you've established your account, you will be able to search for a film and use the “Request” button. Requests go directly to Schaffer librarians for review.
